MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A Montgomery man is facing charges after a robbery, shooting and police chase Sunday.

Justin Hendrix, 20, is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Hendrix is accused of robbing and shooting a man at the Super 8 motel on Carmichael Road around 1:25 Sunday afternoon.

According to court documents, Hendrix shot the victim in both legs and robbed him of $50.

After the shooting, police say Hendrix led officers on a chase through the city.

During the chase, there were three crashes involving the suspect and other motorists who weren’t involved in the chase.

The first two collisions happened at Hermitage Drive at McGehee Road and Spiegel Street at Fairground Road.

The chase ended after a third collision on Teresa Street near Fairground Road.

Hendrix was taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and placed under a $65,000 bond. Coleman says additional charges are pending for Hendrix.

Police say the shooting victim’s injuries aren’t life threatening.
