The fluctuating temperature trend continues
We are tracking several fronts that will push colder air into the state of Alabama over the next week.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A cold front will exit the state of Alabama tonight, in its wake will be cooler temperatures for the overnight period. Lows will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s along with decreasing clouds.
The chilly temperatures continue for Friday. Even with the sunshine expected, afternoon highs will only warm into the lower to middle 60s. Winds will be breezy Friday, sustained around 5 to 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph, making it feel even colder during the day. Friday night, clear skies will prevail with lows falling into the lower 40s and east winds around 5 mph.
The weekend is looking mostly dry with a bit of a warming trend ahead of our next front. Expect partly cloudy skies for Saturday with afternoon highs warming into the upper 60s. Winds will be out of the east around 5 to 10 mph. Saturday night, we will see partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper to middle 40s.
Sunday will be a bit cloudier as a cold front moves closer to Alabama. Highs on Sunday are back into the lower 70s. Cloudy skies will prevail Sunday night as the cold front moves into the region. Showers will accompany this front and lows will hover near 50 degrees Sunday night.
Monday we will see a few showers in the morning as the front exits the region. Clouds will be clearing by the afternoon and afternoon highs will plummet behind the front. Highs will only top out in the 50s with a bit of a north breeze, making it feel colder than the air temperature. Even colder air is expected Monday night into Tuesday. Lows will be near 30 degrees with wind chills in the 20s.
We remain on the cold side for Tuesday. We are forecasting sunny skies with highs only in the lower 50s. Lows Tuesday night into Wednesday will also plummet into the lower 30s again.
The warm-up returns for Wednesday into Thanksgiving on Thursday. Highs Wednesday are back into the lower 60s with partly cloudy skies. Lows are back into the upper 30s to lower 40s by Wednesday night into Thursday.
Turkey Day on Thursday will be a bit warmer. Highs will be back into the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. We are tracking another cold front that looks to move into the region on Black Friday, which is good news for Thanksgiving Day itself. We will continue to track this front and the holiday forecast as we push closer to the end of next week.
